I've been real busy! I was bummed that I couldn't attend last year's Dark Shadows fest, and this year might be difficult too, just because of scheduling and college classes.
I really wanted to attend in New York. I guess we'll just have to see. I'm moving and everything... literally, this year has been a whirlwind!
I'm looking forward to the show, Teen Wolf, that's coming on MTV on June 5th. I did some extra/background actor work on a few of the episodes back in December, and I'm pretty psyched for it now. It looks like a pretty cool show, which is saying a lot, since I generally am not a big fan of the twilight craze, nor typical MTV dramas. It's awesome seeing the previews and everything as the release date comes closer. The actors were really chill and cool. I got to hang around the two mains an entire day, which was really fun.
Typically, you're told not to talk to the actors while they are working, but it was a really laid-back set and they were all initiating conversations and just really friendly. They were very funny and everybody, from the crew to the other extras were really cool people. I had so much fun, even though it was a really LONG three days of filming, working on three separate episodes on the same day meant changing clothes three times... lol, it was very confusing.
There was this crew guy named Matt. He'd be going around "foaming" people (putting foam squares on the bottom of high-heels, so they don't click-clack) he looked so funny bent over my shoe, cutting this square out and applying it! I had a few laughs with him, as I got my shoes foamed quite a bit.
The extras are basically all these awesome creative people grouped together, who are very out-going, enthusiastic and interesting. Their energy was just fun to be around! I loved meeting so many new people all at the same time.
The only bad part was sometimes there were long periods of waiting, which is horrible, especially when it's winter and there's very minimal heating in the school we were filming in! Brrr!! It wouldn't be bad, except, I guess the show is supposed to be set in California, so you have to wear season neutral clothing-- so no heavy coats allowed. I was outside filming in 40 degrees with a flannel skirt and light jacket on. Not fun! lol! I was hoping somebody would take pity, but no one seemed to notice except for Tyler Posey who asked me if I was cold, and went on about how his feet were going numb. Haha!
It was funny, because we (me and the girl I met on set who became my friend, so we stuck together) kept being put around him in different scenes (we'd be walking out the same door, or sitting directly in front of him in classrooms).
The girl I was with says to him, "We're going to look like we're stalking you." and he says, "What's wrong with that?!!" lol! Then, the following day, he sees us and says, "You're stalking me again!!!!" and I said, "Oh yeah!!" My friend says, "I think you're the one stalking us!!" and he replied, "That's why I signed on to this show!!!" Hahaha. I think he likes to act arrogant for laughs, and it works. He's hilarious.
So yeah, I'm totally looking forward to this coming on.
I also hope to get to the Dark Shadows Festival. I just saw David Selby tonight in the Social Network movie, and it reminded me of the very awesome fests!
Good news though, is that if the festival is in California next year, I might actually be able to attend because I'm moving this June or July and I will be closer! :D
